Dragon Roulette Tables at The Venetian Resort Casino Macao

To inaugurate the launch earlier this year of the new Dragon Element Roulette tables on The Venetian® Macao casino floor, patrons where entertained by dragon dances and other performances.

“We wanted a roulette table with an Asian theme,” said Cetin Tanisman, Senior Vice President of Table Games Operations at The Venetian Macao. “Something special, something different, something that said: this is roulette in Asia. The result is what you see with the Dragon Element Roulette table. Sands China is always looking for new ways to enhance visitors’ experiences and to diversify games. We launched Fast Action Baccarat in December, and now we’ve got a uniquely Asian roulette table. ”

Based on a traditional roulette table, the new design sports a dragon motif on the table felt, providing a background for a five-element theme: gold, wood, earth, water and fire. Rising above them is a commanding glass dragon, sitting atop a turret and overlooking the roulette table, which is fashioned from Chinese redwood.

New features of the highly innovative and unique Asian roulette table include sequential numbers, and technology that automatically spins the roulette ball. Customers have the option of betting before or after the ball lands in the winning slot. The wheel is covered by LCD Smart Glass that turns opaque while the ball is spinning, and turns clear to reveal the winning number once the ball has stopped spinning, adding an additional element of anticipation to the popular game.

A crowd on the gaming floor watched with interest as the performances heralded the official introduction of the new Dragon Element Roulette table. The area immediately leading to the five new tables is sectioned off with short pillars intricately depicting the five elements, and an arch with a huge golden dragon is draped over top.

There are plans to introduce the new roulette tables at Sands® Macao, Sands® Cotai Central, and The Plaza™ Macao.
