A brightly painted sign marks the Bass Pro Shop construction site in Atlantic City. Billed as the “Great American Outdoor Store;“ It is hoped that more of this type of non-gaming experience will help redefine the future of Atlantic City.
In the distance a faded stain outlines where the Trump Plaza sign once hung on the parking garage. It’s one of only a few identifying marks on this now closed gaming hall. Opened in 1984 and closed in 2014 it is now vacant. The doors sealed shut, the games sold off and the buildings future footprint has yet to be determined. The Plaza is one of four casinos that closed recently in this struggling resort city.
