TUNICA, Miss. — Gold Strike Casino Resort, one of the Mid-South’s premier casino resort destinations, announces the appointment of Robert Franklin as Executive Chef. Franklin will oversee menu planning and development operations for Gold Strike’s four restaurants.
With more than 40 years of experience, Franklin brings a depth of culinary knowledge, ranging from fine dining, restaurants and management to specialty catering services.
“Robert’s skill and acumen will continue to distinguish Gold Strike at the forefront of culinary destinations,” Gold Strike General Manager Dean Rubin said. “With a rich background in management and diverse culinary skills, his artistry will continue to redefine the dining experience for each of our guests.”
Franklin’s vast expertise draws from previous positions as an executive chef and manager of restaurant operations, including his 11-year tenure at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, La. Beyond mastering his craft in restaurants, bistros, exclusive clubs and bakeries throughout the South, his immense food background also includes two years studying regional cuisines from Milan, the Italian Alps, Bologna and Regio Emilio in Milano, Lombardi.

When preparing his exquisite menus, Franklin incorporates his knowledge of American cuisine while drawing from his strong international food background, including Cajun, Cuban, French, German, Indian, Italian, Moroccan, Swiss and Thai cuisine.
