A casino executive with experience running casinos in the Northeast, Midwest and Southwest has been appointed president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon in Mettler.
According to a news release Hard Rock issued Monday morning, Chris Kelley will oversee operations at the gambling, hotel and entertainment venue whose first phase is planned to open by the end of 2025.

“We are confident Chris will bring forth his innovative and extensive background in finance and operations, ensuring continued growth and excellence for Hard Rock’s leadership in the gaming industry,” Hard Rock Chief Operating Officer Jon Lucas said in the release. Kelley will report to Lucas.
Before that, he was president and COO at MGM Northfield Park in Ohio. He also worked as chief financial officer at MGM Detroit, and had positions including CFO and general manager at Viejas Casino & Resort in San Diego.
The Mettler complex is planned to include a 400-room hotel, a 2,800-seat Hard Rock Live events venue and a variety of dining and other amenities.
