In this week’s tournament, the South Korean player “veer” claimed victory, securing 0.35 BTC and earning South Korea its first tournament championship. Meanwhile, Thai player “เกมหมา” and Russian player “Lesnov” took second and third place, winning 0.2 BTC and 0.1 BTC, respectively.
Notably, this marks the second time that the Russian player has won BTC. He previously won a tournament championship and took home 0.35 BTC. With this week’s top-three finish, he has now earned a total of 0.45 BTC from the tournaments, worth approximately $40,000.
In fact, since the tournament series began, several players worldwide have repeatedly won BTC. By the 22nd week of competitions, some players have made it into the BTC prize pool three times, successfully securing BTC winnings. One reason for this is that the tournament is entirely free and runs for 100 weeks—meaning that the better a player's skills, the higher their chances of winning BTC prizes for free.
Additionally, MTT Sports has officially announced that starting from March 8, the weekly tournament champion’s prize will increase. The BTC prize for the weekly champion will rise from 0.35 BTC to 0.4 BTC.
MTT Sports will continue hosting free tournaments for the remaining 78 weeks, maintaining a high chance for players to win BTC prizes through competition.
