MERKUR Gaming withdraw from ICE London 2022 claiming covid and brexit

Espelkamp/London. Following a decision made by its Board of Directors the Merkur Gaming Group has reluctantly taken the decision to withdraw from its planned participation as a major exhibitor at London’s ICE 2022 (April 12th to 14th 2022).

In informing the ICE organisers, Clarion Events, of this decision Merkur cited their view that, for a number of reasons, the Group’s substantial investment in ICE would be unable to show a positive return.

Comment on Entain's Q4 results - Russell Pointon, Edison Group

Russell Pointon, Director at Edison Group, comments:

“Following a strong performance in Q4 21, Entain’s pre-tax profit for FY21 is anticipated to be in the range of £875m - £885m, which is higher than expected. 

“Entain’s Q4 net gaming revenue was up by 4% in the period up until 31st December. Retail NGR was particularly strong, it surged by 60%, with an increase in betting activity at its shops as volumes returned to within 10% of pre-pandemic levels.

European Casino Association: ‘ICE London is an opportunity to reunite the industry after two years apart.’

The European Casino Association has confirmed its support for April’s rearranged edition of ICE London (12/13/14 April ExCeL London) describing the event as an “opportunity to bring together the land-based casino sector after a prolonged period of absence”.
