One of the most prestigious iGaming awards ceremonies is almost upon us once again. Having crowned a collection of winners for the European arm of the industry in February over in London, the Global Gaming Awards’ next stop is to crown the best of the best in the Asia-Pacific market. The sophomore edition of this ceremony will be held online via a virtual event on May 29.
Voting commenced on April 17, giving ample time for the GGA’s cohort of leading executives to make their selections across the nine categories. Last year, Light & Wonder landed two top prizes at the Singapore-based events. Not only did they net the Casino Supplier of the Year award, but also the Casino Product of the Year for MDX. This year, Light & Wonder is nominated again but faces some stiff competition in one of the biggest awards categories.
With the nominees on the board and the virtual event quickly approaching, this is the look at the shortlists and some of the leading names up for awards on May 29.

Casino Supplier of the Year 2023
As a way of recognizing the supplier whose efforts drive the development of casino gaming properties, the Casino Supplier of the Year is often seen as one of the biggest awards that the Global Gaming Awards offers at each of its three annual ceremonies. This year, Interblock Gaming, Jae Entertainment and Gaming Technologies, Alfastreet, Novomatic, Light & Wonder, JCM Global, Asia Pioneer Entertainment, and IGT are all in the mix.
While the nominees are judged on their individual efforts within each specific market, the awards in London earlier this year could indicate a frontrunner for this particular award. The Casino Supplier of the Year at the European Awards was IGT. Of course, IGT is one of the biggest and most renowned brands in iGaming. Their games, particularly slots, bring in millions of customers, and some are now instantly recognizable.
It speaks volumes that players around the world continue to seek out even many of IGT’s older games in all formats. Firmly entrenched among the “Favourite Free Slots” section, Golden Goddess and Cleopatra continue to be huge draws for the free slots players of VegasSlotsOnline. Whether it’s the clear-cut features, volatility ratings, or trademark art design, IGT slots remain the go-to creations for slots gamers around the world. Available online and in physical venues, the brand has helped to give a world-class footing to new platforms across the region.
Rivaling IGT is another storied brand in the casino gaming space, Novomatic. Creators of fellow popular free slot Book of Ra Deluxe, its Novomatic’s premium performance and rapid return on investment for operators have given them strong backing at the Global Gaming Awards this year. Of course, it’s tough not to circle back to Light & Wonder. The reigning champions of the award have only become stronger, announcing several upgrades and new additions to the offering. Still, a precedent has been set in London, and IGT might just add another trophy in 2023.
Digital Supplier of the Year 2023
In this awards category, those who prove themselves to be the very best online games or online software suppliers get nominated. Skilrock Technologies weighs in with its highly-praised omnichannel and omni-gaming platform. Oddin.GG, on the other hand, has its eye on B2B eSports betting solutions. BetConstruct has a wider-reaching platform for all betting, as does Upgaming – which also includes slots, tables, mini-games, and live games.
Following those nominees, there’s Continent 8 Technologies and its hosting, connectivity, and security services in iGaming, as well as Digitain, which helps to streamline iGaming and business operations in the Asia-Pacific region. Sportradar also made the cut for its virtual in-play cricket product. Still, for a similar reason to IGT, the brand that many have an eye on at Global Gaming Awards is Pragmatic Play. Having landed the Online Casino Supplier and Online Slot of the Year awards in London, Pragmatic Play leads this category for its slots and live casino portfolio.
Both IGT and Pragmatic Play have proven their mettle in the arguably leading market of Europe. Conquering all in Europe is a big achievement, and while the Asia-Pacific market is a different prospect entirely – being far newer than that of Europe – if a brand’s efforts in Europe are worthy of praise, it’s likely that those similar efforts in the Asia-Pacific will be market-leading as well.
